What I do remember though is that it had become so tough to find stray horses anymore. You see, right before this particular horse count happened every year, the villagers would go on an expedition to catch new horses.And what a sight it was! We’d watch as they threw various kinds of ropes and cages made out of wooden crates at the horses and caught them without fail. This was a well-organized operation – one which we couldn’t even dream of going against by any stretch of imagination. Luckily for me, my parents were always away working or traveling that day but then something changed that very year..
